World Food Program: Improving Food Security in Afghanistan; The needs are stable

The World Food Program has reported that the food security situation in Afghanistan has slightly improved, but food needs in the country are still very high. Based on this report, despite the slight improvement, 11.6 million people in Afghanistan are still at or above the crisis stage. This institution considers unemployment, family debt, low income, return of immigrants from neighboring countries and food price fluctuations as the root causes of this situation. The World Food Program predicts that about 3.5 million children under the age of five and 1.15 million pregnant and lactating women will suffer from acute malnutrition.
